Mastodon Social

Let's talk Mastodon Social and why it's a huge step in the right direction. It's taken the web by storm, and for all the right reasons. It's open source, meaning there is no big corporation or funding behind the project. Mastodon is created/developed and hosted by individuals who want to simply make the internet a place for expression once again. There are no ads or politics thrown in your face on Mastodon. It's quickly made twitter it's ugly step cousin, in my eyes. The local instance method ensures content is focused for sets of individuals, as well as professionals. It also helps mediate trolls because it isn't a one "instance" system. Mods have a much easier time containing content as well as dropping the ban hammer spammers. You can also mute users so you no longer see there posts. This is still a new platform, but the beginning is looking promising for those who are already a part of this awesome niche community.
